Yesterday the people of Bastian in Nice, France are in
grieve sorrow again as terrorist truck loaded with ammunitions, grenades and
others bump into a celebrating crowd,
and killing at least 84, people and
dozens injured.
According to Mashable, Few minute after the attack
the deputy mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi tweeted saying many have been
killed and the figure is rising, Later,
French President Francois Hollande announced that at least 77 people had been
killed, including several children. The soon after the death toll rose 84,
as announced by France interior minister.
France President in a statement, described it as a “terror attack”
He also said “France
would "continue to strike those who are attacking us on our own
soil.”
President Hollande
said "France is deeply afflicted by this new tragedy, France is horrified
by what has just occurred," he said late Thursday during a press
conference. "This monstrous act of using a truck to deliberately kill
dozens of people who were simply celebrating the 14th of July. France is
afflicted but France is strong, and France will always be stronger than the
fanatics that want to strike France today."
The U.S
President Obama in an issued statement symmetrized with the affected families
and condemned the terror attack.
The
statement said
“On behalf
of the American people I condemn in the strongest terms what appears to be a
horrific terrorist attack in Nice, France which killed and wounded dozens of
civilians, our thoughts and prayers are with the families and other loved ones
of those killed,and we wish full recovery for those wounded, I have directed my
team to be in touch with French officials, and we have offered any assistance
that they may need to investigate the attack, and bring those responsible to justice.
We stand in solidarity and partnership with France, our oldest ally, as they
respond to and recover from this attack.
"On this Bastille Day we
are reminded of the extraordinary resilience and democratic values that have
made France an inspiration to the entire world, and we know that the character
of the French Republic will endure long adter this devastating and tragic loss
of life.”
A source said, the tragedy occurred just hours after France
announces that on July 26 the nation would lift the
state of emergency that's been in place since the deadly November 2015 terror
attacks in Paris. After the attack, Hollande said
it would be extended for three months.
