NNPC Has New Board, Kachikwu No Longer NNPC GMD

The Nigerian President Buhari with his change agenda is actually spreading its wings across all sectors of the economy, as the just appointed minister of state for petroleum and the Group Managing Director NNPC, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu. Has seized to be the NNPC GMD. As his position as been taken by Dr Maikanti Kacalla Baru as the new GMD to NNPC.

The new Board was formed by President Mohammadu Buuhari, backed by Nigerian constitution.

The new formation is chaired by:

1) Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu.

 2) Group Managing Director, NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Kacalla Baru

3) The permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance Mrs. Ana Daniel Nwaobia. As a member. Others included are:

3) Mallam Mohammed Lawal.

4) Dr. Thomas M.A John.

5) Mallam Yusuf Lawal.

6) Dr. Pius O. Akinyelure.

7) Mallam Abba Kyari.

8) Dr. Tajuddeen Umar.

The new board were later advised by president Buhari to put in their effort to cause a progressive change in NNPC,” and serve the nation by upholding the public trust placed on them in managing this critical national asset.” He said.
