FG/Nigerians mourn Late Ojo Madueke




Nigerians and Government in grieve as they mourn one of their own the former minister of Foreign Affaire Chief Ojo Madueke who died yesterday

Who is Chief Ojo Madueke?

Chief Ojo Madueke was born in Ohafia
Abia state, Nigeria on May 6, 1945 and died on June, 29, 2016 He was appointed Minister of Culture and Tourism in 1999 by the then president Olusegun Obasanjo, he was also appointed Minister of transportation by Obasanjo in 2001, on 6th, July, 2007, he was appointed the Foreign Affair Minister to Nigeria by Late President Umaru Musa Yaradua.  Madueke left when Late President Yaradua died, as the new Government by the then President Goodluck Jonathan dissolved the old cabinet by Yaradua and set up his own cabinet.

He has also held other important position in the country like:
Legal and Constitutional Adviser to President (2003-2005), Member, National Assembly (Second Republic) (1983 – ), Member, Constitutional Assembly (1988-1980), Member, National Constitutional Conference (1994-1995), Adviser to Social Democratic Party (SDP) Chairman (1990-1992), Adviser to Minister of Foreign Affairs (1993-1995), Member, National Boundaries Adjustment Commission (1997 -1998), Elected Senator (1998 ), Federal Minister of Transport (2000-2003),  Federal Minister of Culture & Tourism (1990-2000), Legal and Constitutional Adviser to President (2003-2005), Member, National Assembly (Second Republic) (1983 – ), Member, Constitutional Assembly (1988-1980 Member, National Constitutional Conference (1994-1995), Adviser to Social Democratic Party (SDP) Chairman (1990-1992),Adviser to Minister of Foreign Affairs (1993-1995), Member, National Boundaries Adjustment Commission (1997 -1998),  Elected Senator (1998 ), Member Nigeria Bar Association,  Associate Member, American Bar Association, Member, International Bar Association Rulling Elder, Presbyterian Church of Nigeria,  Paul Harns Fellow (ROTARY CLUB), Senior Partner, Madekwe & Co (Barrister & Solicitor since June 1973)
By 2011 He was the deputy director Presidential campaign for Goodluck/sambo ticket. In the same 2011 he was also made the National Secretary of People Democratic Party (PDP). Madueke was also part of the few nominated for SGF, which led to continuous lambasting by the eastern Part of Nigeria, he was later dropped.

Madueke was an ardent advocator on driving bicycle to work, when he was the transport Minister in Nigeria. Even though he was told that the road was not conducive he continued his advocate.
