“I struggle with drug addiction” Braelynn’s birth mother, Erica Keisler, told “Nightline.” “Things just got to be too much for me.”

“When we were in court for them to give her back to me, I realized it wasn’t going to happen,” said Keisler.
“We honestly thought at the beginning we were working a foster care plan to help a mother get her child back,” Ed Dalsing said.
However, Braelynn had some health developmental issues, Kesler said “And that’s when I had to do some major soul-searching and make the decision to let the Dalsings adopt her,”
“She made a choice, probably one of the hardest choices I could imagine a mother making, and that’s handing her daughter over to somebody else,” Ed Dalsing said.
“It was a lot of trust,” Tammy Dalsing told “Nightline.” He added she new we loved her and it was a good placement for her,
Kesler also had another female child for another father, who was also adopted by the Dalsing family and proudly believe Braelynn will be fine with them.
Early November 2016 Myer was released from prison, now the Supreme Court are given him the go ahead.
“It was really hard. What the Dalsings do for my two girls is a blessing,” Keisler said. “I can lie down at night and know that they’re taken care of, know that they’re loved.”
According to the documents filed with the court, Braelynn’s birth father says Andrew Myers, says he is Braelynn’s only father and that she should be with him. When he first found out Braelynn was going to be born, he was excited to be a parent and, however, he was wanted by police for bank fraud and a probation violation. He turned himself in, hoping he could serve his time and get out in time to start raising his child. He began his prison time in Virginia in October of 2012, seven months before his daughter was born.
Myers lawyer, Sheldon said “From the very beginning, Mr. Myers had a plan,” he added that he should be unified with his child and that the child should be moved to Virginia.”
Sheldon also contest the adoption that, Myers wrote to his daughter and said he arranged for his mother to send money to her, and also ask for Braelynn to be placed into his mother care, but the judge chose to end his parental rights in 2015 because he was in prison, had little contact with Braelynn and wasn’t directly paying child support.
